SCI belongs to a national organization known as Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association, which is celebrating its 40th year. (MBCEA) www.mbcea.org
As MBCEA approaches their 40th year serving Metal Building Contractors and Erectors, they have been working with the top contractors and erectors and their leaders along with their chapters and national board to bring their organization to the forefront as the number one association of our industry representing Metal Building contractors and erectors. Perhaps more importantly, the Certification process is intended to result in self-evaluation and examination of company policies and procedures. The steps that must be taken to earn certification often result in enhancements within the applicant company.

SCI belongs to a national organization known as Metal Building Institute. (MBI) What is this organization about? The Metal Buildings Institute is a 501 c 3 Educational Institute as designated by the United States Internal Revenue Service. The Institute was founded on July 2, 2001 for the primary purpose of providing educational and training programs for metal building contractors and erectors.
The Institute’s Responsibility Statement –
The responsibility of the Metal Buildings Institute is to improve the quality of in place metal building construction by providing education and training programs to metal building contractors, erectors, and students in construction programs, for the direct benefit of specifiers, designers, and owners.
History and Background (MBI)
The Metal Buildings Institute was created in 2000 by the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association to serve as the industry’s information and education resource for contractors and erectors. This certification program was assigned to the Institute as its first formal activity.
As part of the enhancement plan, the Metal Buildings Institute will seek to educate the industry and its influencers regarding the importance of certification as a quality standard
in the construction of metal buildings. The Certification Program also permits contractors who have maintained a reputation for quality performance, to hold themselves out to the public as having the qualifications of a contractor specialist in the metal buildings industry.

The Metal Buildings Institute Contractor Certification Program is the industry’s only quality recognition plan for contractors and erectors. Certification demonstrates a commitment to quality workmanship, sound business practices, adherence to safety policies and worker training and much more.
Perhaps more importantly, the Certification process is intended to result in self-evaluation and examination of company policies and procedures. The steps that must be taken to earn certification often result in enhancements within the applicant company.
Systems Contractors, Inc. Serves The Nation of Steel Erectors ……How?
Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) have been working with the top contractors and erectors and their leaders along with our chapters and national board to bring our organization to the forefront as the number one association of our industry representing Metal Building contractors and erectors. SCI is very proud to have two of the metal building industry’s very highly respected individuals setting on the Board of this nationally renowned Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association and they are Mr. Mike Reynolds, President/Owner of Systems Contractors, Inc., he is a Director on the Board of Directors and Mr. Earl Raymond, Vice President/Owner of Systems Contractors, Inc., he serves as the Treasurer for MBCEA. These distinguished men of the metal building erectors community were voted into these positions by their peers because of their proven track record in the industry and because of their extensive knowledge of the medal building and erecting business and safety procedures. They are able to assist with a great wealth of knowledge and information for all concerned.
Systems Contractors, Inc.’s Further Commitment to Safety In the great state of Colorado an association for steel erectors was formed by Cole-Miller Safety Consultant, Inc. This association is called Steel Erectors Safety Association of Colorado. (SESAC) Systems Contractors, Inc. is a member of this association and Mr. Mike Reynolds (of SCI) sets on the Board of Directors in accord with Steel Erectors Safety Association of Colorado. Mr. Steve Miller, of Cole-Miller Safety Consulting, Inc. has over 30 years of experience in construction, craning and rigging management, and safety management. His Safety Consulting Company specializes in general safety policy and program development, steel erection, rigging and safety programs, and fall protection specialization.
Safety and continuing education concerning safety and the structural and pre-engineered metal buildings industry is why Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Raymond extend themselves to all these different avenues of training and learning to continuously keep abreast of new and up and coming safety procedures for the industry and better improved ways and methods for erection.
SCI has a safety training program that includes entry level employees up to our top journeymen and management team. The training programs that are implemented at SCI include: Aerial Lift Training; Fork Lift Training; A 10 hour comprehensive training program on the proper use of all company tools and safety procedures. Before any of SCI’s employees are permitted to use an aerial lift or fork lift they must have had the proper training to receive a certification card, that they must carry at all times, stating they are qualified to operate such equipment.
So, is SCI committed to safety as the number one job issue? The answer is undeniably yes “Safety First…………Above All Things” is SCI’s motto.
